Right when you are just getting into the swing of things with your fitness routine, you realize your vacation is just around the corner! Don’t stress, you can still travel, indulge, and keep up with your workouts while on the go, it’s just going to take a little planning on your end. Here are some tips to keep you moving while on vacation.
Plan For It
Most hotels and resorts provide well equipped gyms for guests. Check out the web site to get an idea of what equipment the gym has to ensure it fits your needs. Some hotels also partner with local gyms or YMCA’s to provide guests the best gym experience while traveling. If you prefer to take it outdoors, do your research on the local beaches, hiking trails, or scenic tours in the places you are visiting. Kill two birds with one stone by taking your workout outside and exploring a bit. Try an excursion, like water rafting or zip lining, there are fun ways to enjoy a new place and get your heart rate up. If anything, just walk the town, the average person walks more miles on a week vacation then they do in a month doing their normal routine. Take advantage of the new scenery and get outside.
Pack For It
No need to bring the whole gym with you, but there are some things you can pack to make sure you stay on top of your goals and make fitness a priority:
- Workout clothes: make sure you pack some gear you can get sweaty
- Cross trainers: you never know what kind of shoes you will need so bring a workout shoe that is comfortable for you in a gym setting or outside.
- Laundry bag: just in case your hotel doesn’t have a washing machine, you don’t want your sweaty clothes rolling around in your luggage.
- Resistance band: you can bring your weights with you (although you may pay additional airline fees if you baggage ends up too heavy), but resistance bands are very light take up very little space. Pack one just in case you need to get your pump on in the hotel room.
Make The Time
If you are wanting to relax on this trip and lay out by the pool, that’s all good too. Make the time to get your workout in at some point in the day before the drinks start flowing. Whether it’s in the morning when you wake up or mid-day after your nap, you will be able to find the time if you make the time. If some days you don’t find the time, no worries, you are on vacation after all.
Make The Space
If you find yourself having to workout in your hotel room, and limited on space, don’t stress, we have a workout for that! Thanks to Beachbody On Demand, as long as you have Wi-Fi, you have workouts. All the Beachbody On Demand workouts are meant to be done at home with limited space. You may have to remodel your hotel room a bit, move a fancy desk over or push a coach out of the way, but you can make it happen. Modify your movements if you have to but don’t let space be a factor in you not getting it done.
Don’t let your upcoming vacation interrupt your fitness routine. Use these tips to keep yourself moving so that you can enjoy your trip and get back to business when you get home.
